MYCL started as a gourmet mushroom producer in 2012. Once the mushroom-growing bags became hard and robust after use, the company started researching the phenomena, thus gaining access to numerous Mycology laboratories in Indonesia, Singapore, and Switzerland. As a result of the research, MYCL now uses mushroom mycelium, the vegetative part of mushrooms, as a natural adhesive and uses it as a binding agent to create biomaterial composite (Biobo) and cultivate it to create strong, leather-like material (Mylea™).
MYCL has also consistently measured GreenHouse Gas emissions since 2020, was awarded the B-corps certificate, and got low carbon awards from MIT Solve, including 100 efficient solutions by solar impulse.
